Rocky Mountain

Since Winter is a Narcotic Canine and technically works for the PD, she gets free Vet care. They called the other day and asked Ray to bring her in to get some blood drawn. Supposedly, an increasing number of dogs in the county are turning up with tick borne illnesses. Tests came back and she is positive for Rocky Mountain Spotted Fever and her numbers are higher than most of the other dogs they've seen.
She seems fine, no symptoms, but I've been doing some research and it's pretty serious attacking internal organs. She's going in on Monday for treatments. Major props to that Vet for calling us and having her tested. Gotta love a good Doctor.
Poor baby girl. Now we have to get Charlie tested. Not looking forward to THAT bill.

Is that only common in your area? I only ask because I live north of Chicago and haven't heard of it - at least I haven't heard of any dogs who've had it - and my dogs have had just about everything!

Take care, I enjoyed your blog,

Mary,
Maryland has one of the highest rates of Lyme Disease. It's unfortunate.
BTW-I visited your site and your artwork is breathtaking!
