We are all out there, with no cell phone, no keys, no food or water, nothing. After we realize the seriousness of it, and that it's no easy fix to get a sliding glass door off the track, we became a little concerned. After an hour of Ray trying desperately to yank the door off the hinges, I yelled down to some older men that were hanging out at the pool (much to Ray's protesting). Just so happens, one of the guys had a master key to all of the condos in the building. I thought "Beautiful". God was looking out for us. So I tell him our room number and to please come rescue us. About 15 minutes later he yells up to us that our storm door is locked. WTF??????? Don't recall locking it, but what can I say...I'm a safety girl!
If Ray could have divorced me right then, I'd be seriously single right now. We were so screwed because no one, probably not even the owners of this joint, have a key to the storm door. I start prepping Vincent that the fire Dept is probably going to have to come to rescue us. Ray informs me that he will jump off the balcony before the Fire Dept (which he used to work for here) is called.
*We did NOT have to call the FD, but this picture represents what was going through my head at the time.
To make a long story short, the old guy threw us a rope with a bucket of tools attached and Ray pried open the sliding glass door about 4 inches and (in a controversial move) shoved Vincent through and he got inside and unlocked the door. I was scared the glass would shatter with all the pressure and would slice his neck but with Marina clawing her way out of my arms after 2+ hours on the hot balcony and EVERYONE on their balconies rubbernecking...basically I was shoving him in myself.
What a fiasco.
I'm pretty much ready to pack it up and head home. I'm scared to hang around and see what the rest of the week holds.

I know it wasn't funny at the time, but your description made me laugh out loud! Ray threatening to jump, shoving your son through the crack...with an audience nonetheless! Hope the rest of your week is not so exciting!
OMG. I thought those things only happened to me. You must of been so upset. I can just imagine what Ray was saying. Because I know how pleasant Ed is when I locked the keys in our cars (several times) and locked myself and the kids out of the house.I had to shove Logan through a back window. LOL
Have fun the rest of your trip
Jesus I cant even believe it but yet I can. You always have some type of excitement going on. God I would have been livid and probably would have just jumped myself.
Oh my goodness! What a story! That is the kind of stuff that happens to our family too! God was looking out for you! I am glad you made it off the balcony and you will enjoy the rest of your trip! NO DOUBT!
How many beers did you drink after that!!! Cheers. I think I would have gone straight for the tequila.
