Traffic was unusually heavy this morning and I just chalked it up to, it being so nice, lots of DC workers were out of the office.
Since our last trip to the ZOO was on Good Friday and it was a effing ZOO inside the ZOO, I reassured Vincent that this time, it will be a much better visit. Well, it was freaking WAY crowded today also. I'm thinking, is it a flippin Holiday again or something? I brush it off again as such a nice day outside and nobody wants to work! So we have a pretty good day with our friends and things run fairly smoothly.
The kids and I return home, I put Marina down for a nap, Vincent is outside with Ray and I turn on the TV. I was reminded why everything was so congested downtown today. Somehow it slipped my mind that The POPE, the Pontiff, the Vicar of Christ, who has been here for 3 GoshForsaken days, had been saying a mass (which I should have attended because I'm so going to hell because I haven't been to church in God knows how long) in DC this morning.
It's kind of ironic that since our Holiest Father has been here, we've been blessed with the most beautiful weather, ever. God works in mysterious ways....
