Neighborhood Christmas Party

I just can't seem to get into the Christmas Spirit this year. I decided to throw a party and maybe that would help catapult me into the holiday cheer. I literally decided like 5 days before guests were supposed to arrive to have this shindig. I sent Vincent from mailbox to mailbox with printed invitations and let the kids decorate these brown paper bags with glitter, glue and markers while I cleaned and cooked.
Surprisingly, most everyone that we invited were available!! It was last Friday night, so it was nice that the guests didn't have to cook, after a long week. Everyone arrived about 6pm, most everyone brought something to eat or drink and a good time was had by all. The kids stayed in the downstairs most of the night and the adults were upstairs chatting it up.
For short notice, it was a really nice party. We used the brown bags as gift bags for the kids and stuffed them with a candy cane, christmas stickers and "reindeer food" (puffed cereal) in sandwich bags with a note for the kids to sprinkle it in their driveway on Christmas Eve.
